A prolapsed uterus occurs when the pelvic floor muscles and connective tissues become weakened or stretched, allowing the uterus to descend into the vaginal canal.
This can lead to symptoms such as pelvic pressure, a feeling of heaviness, urinary or bowel changes, discomfort during intercourse, or visible bulging at the vaginal opening.
Although common, especially after childbirth or during and after menopause, many women are not given clear information about why it happens or how to manage it.
